COSCA

I have recently changed the counselling professional body I am A a member of, I am now with COSCA, (I was previously with BACP). I now hold accredited member status as a counsellor/psychotherpist with COSCA. (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland)

In regard to my practice it makes no difference.

All counselling professional bodies havre the samw status and they are not statutory bodies.

It is a recommendation when working as counsellor/psychotherapist that you join with a professional body, it’s a personal choice which one you choose, there are a few out there. When you join a professional body, you agree to work to their code of Code of Ethics and practice.

Profesional bodies are overseen by the PSA the professional standards authority.
